Tailored Nutrition, Better Living: QCS Partners with local Dieticians to Improve Resident’s Health and Wellbeing 🍴👵🏼

At Quirindi Care Services (QCS), we are committed to enhancing the health and well-being of our residents through personalised nutrition care. To achieve this, we have partnered with Focus on Function, a therapy service provider based in Gunnedah, NSW, to deliver tailored dietitian services that address the unique dietary needs of each resident.

Megan - an accredited practising dietician from Focus on Function 🥗👩‍⚕️ is dedicated to creating personalised meal plans that not only meet our residents' nutritional needs and health goals but also respect their preferences and cultural backgrounds.

Recognising that each resident has distinct nutritional requirements, our collaboration with Focus on Function provides individualised dietitian services. Louise Whitton, owner and occupational therapist at Focus on Function, emphasises the importance of this approach:

At Quirindi Care Services, personalised care is at the heart of everything we do. 🏡💙 We’re dedicated to creating an environment where our residents feel at home, safe, and valued. From customised meal plans to meaningful connections, we strive to ensure comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging. 🌿✨

Our dietitian team is conscious of practical, culturally appropriate, cost-effective, and available solutions! We pride ourselves in working with the provider to come up with suitable options.
— Louise Whitton, Focus on Function

By conducting comprehensive assessments, Focus on Function's Accredited Practising Dietitians develop customised nutrition plans that cater to the specific health conditions, preferences, and cultural backgrounds of our residents.

Louise explains the value of their services for Quirindi Care Services, “Our dietitian services are able to enhance nutritional status, reduce risk, reduce burden of care, and improve the quality of life for aged care residents,” she said.

Through our partnership, we aim to proactively address these challenges by implementing strategies that promote better health outcomes, reduce the risk of nutrition-related complications, and alleviate the burden on caregiving staff.

Our collaboration with Focus on Function is built on a shared commitment to providing high-quality, individualised care. Louise reflects on this partnership:

"We have really enjoyed working with Quirindi Care Services. We love collaborating with like-minded services who are always willing to go a step ahead of guidelines to ensure quality care for their residents."

By working closely together, we ensure that our residents receive comprehensive nutrition support that aligns with best practices and exceeds standard care guidelines.

Forming strong relationships with local providers like Focus on Function is essential for delivering continuous and effective care. Louise notes:

"We believe forming strong working relationships with local providers is in the best interest of our communities. This ensures continuity of care and working towards improved health outcomes for regional senior Australians."

Such partnerships are crucial in providing consistent and comprehensive care, particularly in regional areas.
