Financial Expertise Meets Community Passion: Welcoming Craig Ellis to the QCS Board

Quirindi Care Services (QCS) is delighted to introduce Craig Ellis as one of the newest members of its board. With an impressive background in financial leadership and a strong personal connection to aged care, Craig is uniquely positioned to contribute to the growth and success of QCS.

I still have country life in my blood, and being able to contribute back to a rural community where such skills may be short would give me a great sense of achievement.

Craig Ellis brings financial expertise and a heartfelt connection to aged care to the QCS Board, aiming to give back to rural communities and help strengthen their services.

Craig grew up in a small country town and understands the importance of tailored services for rural communities. “For me, joining the QCS Board is a way to get back to my roots while giving back to a rural community,” Craig explains. “I know how valuable it is to have the right skills available to organisations like QCS, and I’m honoured to offer my expertise to support the board and the community.”

Craig’s extensive career includes over two decades at Morningstar, where he held senior leadership positions across Australia, Asia, and Europe. His experience spans financial operations, governance, mergers and acquisitions, and organisational transformation. From streamlining financial systems to leading global integration projects, Craig has a proven ability to implement strategies that optimise performance and create sustainable growth.

Via my parents’ journey through the various stages of care, I’ve developed a deep understanding of the importance of the sector and the support it provides.

“I hope to bring thoughtful insight and practical recommendations that add value to QCS as a whole,” Craig says. “It’s about helping the organisation thrive while ensuring its standing within the community remains strong.”

Craig’s connection to aged care is deeply personal. Over 40 years, he has witnessed his parents’ journey through various stages of care, from independent living to full-time residential care. “Seeing the support my father received as his health declined, and the continued care my mother has enjoyed living independently at 92, has given me a profound appreciation for the role aged care plays in people’s lives,” Craig reflects.

Over the past 40 years, I have seen both sides of aged care—the vital role it plays in supporting individuals and the comfort it provides to families.

”When my mother managed an Anglican Retirement Village, I saw firsthand how essential aged care staff and facilities are in supporting people’s later years.

Beyond his professional commitments, Craig values time with his wife, Leanne, their daughters, and their grandchildren. He enjoys traveling—especially to Italy—dining out with friends, and staying connected to his love for rugby, a sport he has played and coached over the years.

I hope to bring thoughtful insight and practical recommendations that benefit QCS and strengthen its standing within the community.

With his financial expertise and personal understanding of the value of aged care, Craig’s contributions to the QCS Board will undoubtedly help the organisation navigate challenges and seize opportunities to strengthen its services and community impact.
