Spotlight on STAFF Fleur Hamilton

My name is Fleur Hamilton and I have been a Leisure and Lifestyle Officer at QCS since March 2022.

Please provide a little about your professional background.
- Completed traineeship with QCS with certification IV Leisure and Health. 2023.
- University of Tasmania certificate – Understanding Dementia. 2022.
- Access to Nursing Certificate II Gunnedah TAFE.

What do you enjoy about working at QCS?
I enjoy spending time with the elderly chatting and getting to know them and helping them to continue enjoying the fullness of life.

I am committed to leisure as a way to health and happiness and bring a wealth of knowledge from my years of personal hobbies in sewing, craft, music bands (Uniting Church Ukelele and Gunnedah Pipes and Drums) and A.S.H horse breeding and farm animals.

Can you share something about yourself?
I have lived in the Quirindi community with my parents and brother since moving here in 1994, in that time I have enjoyed getting to know the community well. I previously volunteered with the Quirindi Library as Storytime volunteer with infants.

What do you most value about working at QCS?
In my role with QCS I most value my friendships and peer support with staff and that I can personally bring comfort and peace of mind in my friendships with residents.

What are you most proud of in your role?
I am most proud of instigating vegetable growing that has beautified our outdoor spaces and Pet Therapy with my guinea pig. I like to use my creative mind when putting on parties and dressing up, bringing everyone together.  I love working at QCS and I love my Leisure and Lifestyle team.
